Report Design: The project involved researching an area of graphic design that was of interest to the student. Then she or he wrote a report, found suitable sources of images and designed a vehicle, in as creative way as possible, for the presentation of the material.

Norway Brochure: Students created a full-color promotional brochure for the S/S Norway, one of the luxury liners operated by Norwegian Cruise Lines. This extravagantly appointed ship is decorated in an Art Deco style reminiscent of the golden age of ocean liners. In thumbnails students were instructed to convey the luxury of the state-of-the-art amenities while at the same time mirroring the Art Deco heritage. Different approaches were required in other thumbnails. The best thumbnail was taken to a finished comp and then photographed.

Ohio Bicentennial Mark: The State of Ohio celebrated 200 years of statehood in 2003. Students were instructed to research the history of the State as well as other relevant subjects. The design project was to create a mark that the state could be proud of and that could be used in all situations appropriate to the celebration. Designs in color and black and white were required.

Unfortunately the State of Ohio had already designed their mark before these students did the assignment, otherwise the official design would probably have been selected from one of the designs below! To view the official State of Ohio Bicentennial Site, click here.
