About the Exhibit:
Fullerton College Art Gallery is proud to present the Painting’s Edge Exhibition, works by artist participants of the 2006 Painting’s Edge symposium. The Painting’s Edge symposium is held annually at the Idyllwild Arts Academy and directed by Los Angeles artist Roland Reiss. Acceptance for the workshop is contingent upon a portfolio review by committee. The Painting’s Edge symposium is for those who have already studied painting at art schools or universities and those more advanced including graduates, postgraduates and working artists looking for professional-level guidance, critique and discussion. Participating artists explore new prospects and dialogue in contemporary painting with a view to expanding the potential in their work. Fresh possibilities in figurative and abstract painting are examined. The symposium involves intensive feedback from guest artists, critics, and the director. The exhibition features artwork produced by twenty-five artists as a result of the 2006 Painting’s Edge symposium.
